 Thailand and US health care system at a glance
           Thailand is a small country in South East Asia region. Her size is slightly more than twice the size of state of Minnesota but her population is around 62 millions, more than 10 times Minnesota's population. Thailand, like many countries in the world including the United States, is facing the growing national health expenditure challenge. However, Thailand health care system is far less complex than the US health care system and has far less resources than the US. Moreover, Thailand's new government has recently achieved the national universal healthcare coverage, whereas the universal health care coverage is an on going debating issue in the US.                                                       Continue...

Current NEJM article_Health IT adoption among US phycisian: national survey
There is a special article about Health IT adoption in  recent New England Journal of Medicine (July 2, 2008). The title is "Electronic Health Records in Ambulatory Care — A National Survey of Physicians". Interestingly only 4% of US doctors have fully functional ambulatory setting EHR and 13% have basic system. This is the link to the article full text http://content.nejm.org/cgi/reprint/359/1/50.pdf.

First Time Blog entry
I enter this blog in my office at Laboratory medicine and pathology, Medical school,  University of Minnesota. The pictures in the photo album are taken early this month at the time of the U's commenment ceremony.You can see that flowers are fully bloom in the pictures. The U planned the colorful landscape 1-2 weeks around the commenment ceremony period.The U atmosphere looks beutiful around this time.
